The LTT is pleased to present a Design Night for CDNIS Parents! The evening will run from 4:30 pm to 6:45 pm on Monday, June 3.
There will be a total of four stations, and parents will be divided into four groups with 30 mins to experience the completion of a mini project at each of the stations by rotation.
Snacks, tea and coffee will be arranged and will be located on tables just outside of OneDoor. There will be no buses after the event. Because of space limitations, we will not be able to accommodate children within the design spaces. However, a separate classroom will be available for parents who need someone to supervise their children. There is a maximum of 25 participants.
FULL — Please RSVP via THIS LINK.
The overview of stations is as follows:
Parents will be completing the code for a single view game, typical of a grade 9 App Design class, and then playing the game in an iOS simulator.
Parents will use iPads to guide a robot through a series of tasks typical of what students experience in grade 7/8 science.
Parents will create a short film while learning about some of the composition, filming, and editing techniques that a typical grade 8 student will learn in design class.
Laser Cutting Station
Parents will customise templates using Adobe Illustrator which will then be cut on the laser cutters for parents to take home.
