ANNUAL CAPITAL LEVY

Payable by non-Debenture Holders. The annual capital levy fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.

^ Students admitted to the school on or before January 31, 2011 will be given a $7,000 annual credit to pay against their Upper School 2nd term tuition fees. This credit will be applied each year for the duration of a student’s enrolment in the Upper School, provided they have continuously attended the school since January 31, 2011.

Other Costs
The following programmes are an integral part of the curriculum for students. The costs of these programmes are not included in the tuition fees. Approximate costs of these programmes, which will be charged separately, are:

Grade 3 to Grade 6
Cultural Education Programme $3,000 to $8,000

Grade 7 to Grade 12
CAS Programme $1,500 to $30,000

Other excluded charges may include but are not limited to
Compulsory school uniforms, some field trips and student activities, lunches (optional), school bus (optional), some educational resources and materials, 1-to-1 laptop purchase programme for Grade 4 to Grade 12, and 1-to-1 iPad programme for Grade 1 to Grade 2.

Entry Fee For New Students
Pre Reception to Grade 12 $12,500

For students who leave the school and return within a two-year period, the Entry Fee will be waived. The Entry Fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable.

Capital Debenture/Annual Capital Levy
All students enrolled in the School must pay an annual Capital Levy or be covered by a capital debenture.

Tuition fee deposit will be credited towards first term tuition fee. School places will only be confirmed after the School has received the tuition fee deposit.

Tuition Fee, Annual Capital Levy & Entry Fee
Annual tuition fees are invoiced in two installments. Full amounts of the annual Capital Levy (if applicable) and the Entry Fee (for new students) are invoiced together with the first term tuition fee.

When a student joins the School at a time other than the beginning of a school term, annual Capital Levy (if applicable) and the Entry Fee will be payable in full, and tuition fees will be charged on a pro-rata basis (based on a 10-month school year) according to the following arrangement:

Student joins between 1st and 15th day of a month

Student joins between 16th and last day of a month

Half a month’s tuition fee will be charged

It is at the School’s sole discretion to consider individual requests for alternative fee paying arrangements.

Parents are held fully responsible for payment of tuition fees, regardless if the fees are paid by their employers or other third parties.

The annual Capital Levy and Entry Fee are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Tuition Fee Refunds
Tuition fees are non-transferable, but refundable on a pro-rata basis (based on a 10-month school year) only if the School receives three full calendar months’ of written notice of withdrawal. Please note that three-month notice is exclusive of July and first half of August.

Application and Assessment Fees
Application and Assessment fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Payment Methods
School fees / Capital Levy have to be settled in Hong Kong Dollars.

The School does not accept Cash or Cash Cheque payments. Payments can be settled by:

  1. Direct Debit – please contact the Accounts Department to arrange for auto debit payments (accounts@cdnis.edu.hk) (Preferred Method).
  2. Crossed Cheque – made payable to “Canadian International School of Hong Kong Limited” or “CDNIS” and dropped off at the reception desk, or mail to the Accounts Department at CDNIS. Please state your child’s name and student number (i.e. Record ID as shown on your statement) on the back of the cheque.
  3. Credit Card Payments – CDNIS accepts Visa and MasterCard credit card payments, subject to an additional 5% administrative fee.
  4. Funds Transfer – CDNIS accepts funds / online transfer to our HSBC account 499-106128-001. When you make payments using this method, you must use your child’s student number as the reference number for the payment and you must fax a copy of the transfer to (852) 2525-7579, or email it to accounts@cdnis.edu.hk.
  5. Wire Transfer – CDNIS accepts wire transfer to our HSBC account. Details are as follows:

The School reserves the rights to revise the above payment and refund policies at any time at its sole discretion.

 Note:

  • The School will not reserve a seat for a student if all the relevant fees have not been paid in full before the due date. Students will not be allowed to attend classes if tuition fees are not paid.
