Make Your Lunch from Home “Litterless”!

CDNIS is a green school, and we hope our entire community will join us in minimizing our footprint on the planet.

One way CDNIS families can help is to send “Litterless Lunches” to school with your children. Here are a few tips to help reduce waste from packed lunches:

  • Use a reusable lunch bag or box.
  • Use reusable containers for packing food. Avoid plastic wrap, foil, single-serving containers, and pre-packaged foods.
  • Use reusable drink containers such as thermoses or reusable water bottles, and avoid single-use pop cans, plastic bottles, and juice boxes.
  • Use non-disposable cutlery and a cloth napkin.

Take the Litterless Lunch Challenge: replace items that are single-use and disposable with a reusable substitute!
